The 29th Arab Film Festival opens on Thursday November 6th and as we approach the full program announcement, we are happy to share with you AFF2025’s poster, designed by Sharif Ezzat.
Every year Sharif Ezzat creates a new original image to celebrate the Arab Film Festival with new and returning fans. We asked Sharif to share a few words about his latest creation. Here’s what he told us:
“This year’s design emphasizes the role of film as a witness and a means of creating collective awareness. Many of us feel the sense of living through an inflection point in history, when the systems and structures that defined our world are transformed. Film can reflect this more deeply than any other medium, opening our eyes and generating waves of attention that intersect and reverberate. The scattered olive leaves represent the disturbance of tradition and uprooting of lives, while the radiating irises signify a strong desire for a new, shared vision.” – Sharif Ezzat
