Dearborn (Los Angeles)
We are proud to share that Dearborn will screen at NewFilmmakers Los Angeles (NFMLA) InFocus: Counter-Ageism on January 17th!
Dearborn is AFMI’s first fiscally sponsored project: a half hour sci-fi dramedy pilot starring Inji El Gammal (as seen on RAMY) and Alia Abedand.
Dearborn screened at AFF2025 and Writer Leila Bustami joined us in person.
Expelled from college, Haifa, a young rebellious woman, returns to her close-knit Arab community in Dearborn, Michigan, determined to restore her reputation and regain her mother’s trust. However, her plans spiral when she becomes entangled in an alien conspiracy initiated by a quirky neighbor.
NewFilmmakers Los Angeles (NFMLA) hosts its January Monthly festival, which includes its annual InFocus: Counter-Ageism program. More programming information to come soon.
