The Arab Film and Media Institute (AFMI) has been enhancing public understanding of Arab culture and providing insight into the beauty, complexity and diversity intrinsic to the Arab world since its beginning as the Arab Film Festival in San Francisco in 1996. Over the years our reach has expanded to year-round programming in multiple cities throughout the United Stated, and online. The Arab Film Festival is now the oldest and largest independent showcase of Arab film in North America.

We regularly host and support screenings in San Francisco, New York, Los Angeles, and Dearborn, MI, and reach many more cities for one-time or occasional engagements. On this page, you will find our current events, plus events from our partners. If you would like to find out more about bringing AFMI programs to your city or organization, please email us at prog@arabfilm.us.
