Dearborn will shine a spotlight on an Arab Community in Michigan and highlight the humanity in each character. Oftentimes, the media reinforces negative stereotypes relating to the Arab community, and Dearborn seeks to change that by building accurate representation of Arab culture on screen.”

Synopsis

DEARBORN is a half hour sci-fi dramedy pilot that begins on one night when resident, Fatimah Al-Rawa, stumbles into her apartment and discovers two troublemaking boys, Kareem and Naji, playing a prank on her and, what looks like to be, an alien infested plant.

The next day, we follow Haifa as she returns to her apartment complex, freshly expelled from college. She returns back home to her apartment building in Dearborn, Michigan, where she is confronted by a disappointed mother, old nosy neighbors, and a crazy lady who has reason to believe that aliens are coming to invade Dearborn.
